Here's Dianne Grossman, CLS'68, standing on the streets of Seattle
introducing Seattleites to Bagels at "her permanent vending locale"
in front of the City jail and health department building, AKA - The
Public Safety Building. Dianne tells us that "only a rare few knew
what a bagel was at that time; however, soon thereafter, bagels
were for sale everywhere! I did this for five years (1982-87). I
ended my business because they put a bus tunnel on this very
street where I vended." [Narrative and Photo Credits: Dianne
